Vertex Pharmaceuticals is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation. They are seeking Territory Account Managers who can build strategic partnerships, navigate complex healthcare systems, and contribute to patient access and engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Build strategic customer partnerships with key decision-makers and healthcare stakeholders across target accounts
- Navigate complex health systems by engaging clinical, administrative, pharmacy, formulary, and protocol stakeholders
- Develop and execute account plans that reflect customer priorities, institutional dynamics, access considerations, and business opportunities
- Identify barriers and unlock solutions that support appropriate patient identification, access, and long-term account growth
- Bring product and clinical expertise to customer conversations using approved messaging and compliant engagement practices
- Support access and formulary efforts by delivering value-based messaging and collaborating with internal partners on pull-through strategies
- Drive strong business performance through disciplined planning, execution, forecasting, and follow-through
- Collaborate across teams while modeling the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotech sales and account management
- A strong track record of results, with a clear customer and patient focus
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic account planning skills
- Ability to work effectively in complex, cross-functional environments
- Experience navigating sophisticated customer systems and processes, including institutional decision-making and access/formulary dynamics where applicable
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel by car or plane up to 80% of the time
- Overnight travel (approximately 10–30%) may be required
- Ability to meet customer credentialing requirements, including background screening, training, and vaccination requirements, as applicable
- Advanced degree such as an MBA preferred
