JDA TSG is seeking an Azure App Modernization & DevOps Customer Engineer to join their Customer Engineer team. This role focuses on helping customers build, deploy, and scale applications using Azure technologies while guiding teams in adopting DevOps best practices and integrating AI-driven tools.
Responsibilities:
- Guide customers through the design and deployment of modern application architectures on Azure using App Services, APIM, and microservices
- Help teams adopt DevOps best practices with GitHub and Azure DevOps, optimizing pipelines for scalability, security, and automation
- Enable containerization strategies using Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Container Apps (ACA) for elastic, resilient services
- Integrate GitHub Copilot to accelerate development cycles, improve code quality, and drive AI-assisted developer workflows
- Assist with API strategy and management, leveraging Azure API Management (APIM) for secure and scalable exposure of services
- Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support during cloud-native transformations and app re-platforming efforts
- Own technical governance across engagements, ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices and enterprise scalability needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally to remove technical blockers and deliver on high-impact modernization initiatives
Requirements:
- 10- 15+ years in software engineering or cloud architecture roles, with a focus on Azure Platform, Azure Application Services, Architecture & Dev Practices, DevOps & CI/CD and Security & Governance
- Proven experience modernizing monolithic apps into Microservices and/or container-based architectures
- Hands-on knowledge of GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline engineering
- Strong customer engagement skills, including the ability to present to both technical and business stakeholders
- Experience delivering cloud-native solutions across the entire app lifecycle—from architecture and DevOps to scaling and support
- Azure Application Services: App Services, APIM, Logic Apps, Azure Functions
- Architecture & Dev Practices: Microservices, 12-Factor App principles, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), RESTful API design
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), ACA (Azure Container Apps), Helm
- DevOps & CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep/Terraform
- AI-Enhanced Dev: GitHub Copilot integration, secure AI-assisted development, and coding at scale
- Security & Governance: Azure RBAC, workload identity, managed identities, secrets management
