Alpha Consulting Corp. is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager and Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead a critical initiative for a key client in the technology/delivery sector. This role focuses on optimizing Refunds and Appeasements processes while enhancing financial and operational reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Management: Lead the R&A finance transformation project, ensuring milestones are met and strategic objectives are delivered on time
- Establish Governance & Taxonomy: Drive end-to-end governance over R&A activities by establishing a common taxonomy and a Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for all R&A data
- Bridge Finance & Operations: Resolve technical complexities and process misalignments to minimize reporting differences between operational teams and the finance department
- Data & Gap Analysis: Address data gaps across reason codes (e.g., why a refund or appeasement was issued) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
- Financial & P&L Alignment: Leverage deep finance and accounting expertise to understand cost impacts and General Ledger (G&L) accounts, ensuring R&A costs are accurately reflected in P&L and operational reporting
- Cost Reduction Strategy: Manage the project with a core focus on analyzing total charges and implementing solutions to systematically bring R&A costs down
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Management, specifically focused on Finance Transformation initiatives with experience in Refunds and Appeasement
- Domain Expertise (SME): Deep subject matter expertise in finance and accounting, with a thorough understanding of cost management, G&L accounts, and P&L reporting
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to navigate complex technical landscapes and drive consensus between disparate teams (Operations, Finance, IT)
- Strong analytical skills with capability in addressing complex data gaps and establishing unified reporting structures
