Trading Academy is a financial education company dedicated to helping individuals take control of their financial future. They are seeking an HR Business Partner to support a multi-state sales-driven workforce, providing guidance on employee relations and compliance while building the HR infrastructure for long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with sales managers and team leaders to support performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution
- Conduct thorough, consistent employee relations investigations, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with company policies
- Serve as a trusted advisor on multi-state employment matters, including leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, accommodations, and related topics
- Promote a fair and consistent approach to disciplinary actions and termination processes
- Oversee background checks and employment verifications
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with California and federal employment laws and regulations
- Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes
- Manage relationships with benefit carriers and resolve employee benefit-related issues
- Administer leave programs (CFRA, PDL, FMLA) and coordinate closely with payroll and benefits teams
- Support HRIS (iSolved) administration and generate reporting and insights as needed
- Develop, update, and maintain job descriptions, policies, and HR documentation
- Oversee and continuously improve compliance processes across all areas of the business
- Prepare and extend offer letters and contractor agreements in alignment with approved compensation structures and in partnership with hiring managers
- Coordinate and process employee status changes
- Develop and distribute compensation plans; provide guidance to managers and support employees with compensation-related inquiries
- Own the end-to-end onboarding experience, ensuring day-one readiness, completion of required documentation (including I-9s), benefits education, and proactive check-ins within the first 14 days
- Partner with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate and timely setup for all new hires
- Design and implement performance review cycles, employee engagement initiatives, and manager development programs
- Assign and manage all HR and training tasks through the Insperity portal (iSolved)
- Analyze employee feedback trends and surface actionable insights to drive organizational improvements
- Contribute to building scalable, effective HR practices to support company growth
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of HR generalist or HRBP experience, including direct support of a sales workforce
- Active HR certification — SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent required
- Experience supporting multi-state operations, particularly California and New Jersey
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters with sound judgment and appropriate documentation
- Strong communicator who can build trust with frontline managers and senior leaders alike
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with HRIS software (iSolved) or comparable
- Background in consumer sales or services organizations
