Hitachi Energy is a leader in power infrastructure solutions, and they are seeking a GIS Field Service Engineering Site Manager. In this role, you will manage on-site field service activities for High Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear installations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while coordinating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and manage on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of High Voltage GIS equipment (69kV–550kV)
- Serve as Hitachi Energy’s on-site representative to customers, subcontractors, inspectors, and local stakeholders
- Supervise field teams and subcontractors to support quality, productivity, schedule, and safe work execution
- Oversee adherence to drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements
- Perform and document field testing, including SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, and contact resistance testing
- Conduct inspections to determine maintenance needs and required repairs, supporting resource planning decisions
- Plan and participate in on-site progress meetings and coordinate daily field activities
- Prepare clear, accurate field documentation, reports, and project records
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements:
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in field service or construction management, preferably with substation, switchgear, or high voltage equipment (69kV–550kV)
- Technical certificate or associate degree in an electrical or mechanical related field, or a combination of education and directly applicable experience
- Experience supervising erection and testing activities for high voltage substations and equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures for working in energized, high voltage substations
- Valid vehicle operator's permit and OSHA 10 training certification (or ability to acquire)
