About this role
HMG AMERICA LLC is seeking a Sr. Data/App Engineer to manage the health of applications. The role involves partnering with various teams to ensure reliability in SQL schema design and incident management for SQL and Azure related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with data engineering, development, and architecture teams to embed reliability into SQL schema design, workload management, job orchestration, and CI/CD deployments
- Monitor application status/health and drive incident management for SQL and Azure related issues and alert respective teams for remediation
- Knowledge of SRE practices for systems leveraging MS SQL and Azure App Services for performance optimization, and operational automation
- Design and implement applications supporting MS SQL and Azure App Services workloads
- Leverage observability frameworks (monitoring, alerting, logging) tailored to MS SQL and Azure App Services performance, cost monitoring, query optimization, and system health
- Knowledge of implementing the web application stacks monitoring including UI, data, services, services bus, and containers
- Experience leading and supporting complex data and application ecosystems
