Lead Solutions & Design Engineer (Data Center BAS)

DataX Connect is a global automation business focused on building out its US data center function. They are seeking a Lead Solutions & Design Engineer to own design and define how systems behave in data center controls projects.

Responsibilities:

• Own BAS / BMS control strategy across chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC systems, and hydronic distribution
• Develop sequences of operation from first principles (not just edits to existing logic)
• Translate mechanical design into real system behaviour under load, pressure, and flow conditions
• Support preconstruction and define technical scope before projects are won
• Stay involved through commissioning, validation, and performance troubleshooting
• Act as a technical authority with clients, engineers, and delivery teams

Requirements:

• Strong experience in data center or mission critical BAS / controls environments
• Deep understanding of chilled water systems, plant behaviour, and cooling strategy
• Ability to write sequences of operation from first principles
• Experience across design, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Comfortable operating in front of clients and senior stakeholders
• Exposure to PLC / SCADA environments (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)
• Experience building standards, libraries, or repeatable design approaches
• Multi-vendor BAS experience (Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, Distech, etc.)
