About this role
Role Overview
Scout and develop high impact external technologies by forging strategic collaborations with startups, incubators, universities, small businesses, and emerging commercial partners.
Support internal teams by coordinating SBIR/STTR and startup tech engagement efforts across IRAD, Tech Area Lead (TAL) Portfolios, Advanced Technologies, and all strategic business units to shape high‑value R&D opportunities.
Partner with small business tech teams to execute systems engineering across the entire lifecycle, from concept development to sustainment.
Lead execution of technical planning, requirements analysis, integration, and V&V while performing architectural exploration and trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and technology options.
Build strong connections with external dual use and commercial small business partners as well as internal Raytheon experts in the Tech Area Portfolios and across Raytheon and RTX technology research organizations, including RTX Technology Research Center (RTRC) and BBN.
Independently engage with internal teams and external partners while upholding Raytheon values, professionalism, and conduct.
Requirements
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience with systems engineering and integration.
Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time
Experience with project and/or program management
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required after start.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
