Lead roadway projects of varying complexity through all phases of design
Design and review roadway projects according to standards established by the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT)
Prepare conceptual plans, detailed plans, specifications, and estimates for public works construction project components
Assume the technical responsibility for coordinating/preparing/reviewing phases or components of projects
Make technical engineering analysis of proposed projects; evaluate need for design changes and make appropriate recommendations
Review plans for conformity to uniform codes, local ordinances, and state and federal regulations
Maintain project files and document design and project management decisions; write various analytical reports
Other job duties as assigned
Requirements
Two years of professional civil engineering work experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months of employment
Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.
