Responsible for the design, development, and review of marine, microgrid, and/or renewable electrical distribution systems.
Effectively troubleshoots and diagnoses issues related to low-voltage power distribution and control systems, following safe operating and work practices.
Supports the development of commissioning documentation and ensures key design decisions are properly captured and documented.
Leads, mentors, and supports team members assigned to engineering tasks, ensuring effective execution and collaboration.
Manages customer engagement to ensure system designs and deliverables meet high-quality standards and align with client requirements.
Performs quality assurance reviews of electrical engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Assists in the development of proposals and winning work.
Maintains professional and technical expertise through continuous learning, including attending workshops, reviewing industry publications, and participating in professional networks and societies.
Maintains strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, naval design standards, and the Canadian Electrical Code.
Provides specialized technical expertise and practical insights to support internal discussions, projects, and engineering activities.
Requirements
Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
Detailed knowledge and experience on the design, troubleshooting and maintenance of marine, microgrid or renewable power systems
An understanding of specifications for government and commercial vessels or the Canadian Electrical Code
Provincial license for practicing as a Professional Engineer
