Responsible for leading design release for current and future switch assemblies.
Develop engineering solutions to release a final design for production.
Manage a group of customer controls components engineering them for use by multiple vehicle programs.
Resolve issues and release parts in collaboration with supplier resident engineers.
Interact with and support Manufacturing and Service Engineers, Product Engineering, Product Launch teams, and Quality engineers.
Prepare and track Engineering Change Work Orders for release documentation and changes.
Develop and track validation test plans, manage change requests and issue tracking.
Coordinate design of component with vehicle changes and revise design if problems occur.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work within GM, suppliers, and with program teams
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple activities
Hands-on vehicle working experience
Ability to self-motivate / self-direct
Problem-solving proficiency
Knowledge and experience with design release system and process, manufacturing process, and vehicle validation process.
Design for Six Sigma training and experience
This position requires legally operating a motor vehicle on a daily basis.
