Role Overview
- Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial preparation
- Draft and file pleadings, including preparing answers, and support discovery and motion practice for attorney review
- Handle e-filing in federal courts and ensure compliance with applicable rules and procedures
- Support SIU-related litigation matters, including cases involving insurance fraud and complex claims
- Prepare arbitration and trial materials, including exhibits and supporting documentation
- Utilize Excel to track case data, deadlines, and reporting needs
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely filings and compliance
- Maintain organized file management, including claim files and litigation documents
- Communicate with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel to support case progression
- Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to maintain high-quality case work
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance litigation or insurance defense
- Experience supporting federal court litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and filings
- Experience with insurance defense matters strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings
- Advanced Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and case management
- Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
