Intake Coordinator

Role Overview

• Facilitate the admission process.
• Process admission referrals.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorizations.
• Assist patients throughout the admission process for both facilities.
• Welcome patients to the Vista's.
• Maintain patient privacy and safety.
• Screen referrals and accept patients to fill beds.
• Register patients.
• Verify insurance.
• Provide census updates to Intake Leadership.
• Complete all legal documents as required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Intake and the Chief Admissions Officer.

Requirements

• CPR certification required.
• Previous psychiatric/substance inpatient experience preferred.
• Previous Intake/Admissions experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Behavior Health and Substance Abuse treatment modalities.
• Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Medical Record.
• Crisis management and time management skills.
• Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized and professional manner.
