Create supportive, healing and engaging group spaces for participants
Develop lessons based on topics that are of interest
Supportive of the ReWire a CBT model used in the program
Includes expertise from other team members
Create lesson plans, activities, curricula that are engaging, culturally responsive and trauma-informed
Develop a strong relationship with the participants in the program
Facilitate multiple weekly groups on site
Deliver content to participants in the community who cannot come to the office due to safety concerns
Conduct individual sessions to support participants in achieving personal goals
Collaborate with other team member to ensure content feels relevant to the needs of the participants
Conduct field work with Youth Workers when needed to engage participants
Attend trips and activities with the team
Participate in Trainings
Other duties as assigned by the Director
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system with understanding that ACES participants are not mandated and will require a new approach to youth work
Strong communication skills
Group facilitation skill
Ability to manage challenging behaviors using de-escalation techniques
A willingness to adhere to an evolving model with the understanding that ACES is intended to be different from other programming
A belief that ACES participants, community members and team members have the ability and capacity for change
An understanding of whom ACES serves and the environment they live in
A commitment to the team to support them through difficult moments and celebrate the beautiful moments!
