The Quality Technician is a coach, cheerleader and player on the team.
Promote systems and processes which enhance the team’s ability to meet customer expectations (NFPA 1901 regulations, Buy/Sell Agreements, UL requirements)
Act as mediator when needed to clarify customer expectations and provide feedback to manufacturing supervision
Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections of completed processes in designated buy/sell areas
Perform data entry, analysis and sharing/explanation of information
Generate Quality reports and be able to explain information
Validate all critical and safety items as required by the Build Book
Review all deviations, quality alerts, and stop shipments
Perform audits of new and existing processes
Writing documents and document control (examples: UL documentation, UL certifications)
Facilitate/Participate in Root Cause Analysis, Practical Problem Solving, etc.
Initiate non-conforming material documents for supplier quality issues
Assist in the execution of activities which promote continuous improvement and protect customers
Conduct training, information sharing, and orientation sessions
Lead by example regarding safety and acting in the best interests of the team
Provide coverage for other technicians as needed (UL and Plant Quality Techs)
Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or Smeal Management
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Detail oriented with strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Positive attitude, energetic, motivated, professional and team player
Strong interpersonal skills working in team environment
Excellent attendance
Ability to read relevant measuring equipment
Provide appropriate feedback and documentation of any defects
Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Must follow all Safety guidelines

Current Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days (Preferred)
Knowledge of/ability to acquire a thorough understanding of customer expectations and regulatory requirements (NFPA 1901/NFPA1900) (Preferred)
Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) (Preferred)
Able to read and understand Engineering documents such as part prints, assembly drawings (Preferred)
Willing to learn and rotate within all quality areas (Preferred)
Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed) (Preferred)
