Support the customer’s computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network monitoring and modeling.
Supervise network support and client server specialists in the planning, coordination, and implementation of network operations, maintenance, repair, or upgrades.
Train, staff, and employ a team of network support specialists to provide advanced incident response support to the Network Operation Center (NOC) and Tier 3 network engineers in the resolution of incident tickets.
Support operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
Develops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, monitoring, and support of LAN and WAN networks.
Support the evaluation and implementation of new network technologies into the network to ensure the NOC can provide the client with robust and proactive monitoring of network health.
Support the analysis of incident trends, escalation of incidents to problems, and development of solutions to resolve network issues.
Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, inventory.
Requirements
Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years.
Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience.
Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s).
Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, Brocade and Foundry OS.
Familiar (doesn’t need to be a SME) with Layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE.
Familiar with Viso and Service Now.
