Provide visible EHS leadership aligned with Alcoa’s Global EHS Vision and Zero Incident philosophy, driving a proactive safety culture across the project portfolio.
Maintain oversight of EHS risks, obligations, and performance, ensuring full compliance with WHS legislation, mining regulations, environmental approvals, and Alcoa standards.
Deliver independent assurance that EHS requirements are clearly defined, effectively implemented, and consistently tracked to closure across all project phases.
Support projects from FEL through to commissioning by ensuring EHS readiness, including robust hazard identification, risk controls, and fit-for-purpose management systems.
Oversee environmental compliance and performance, including land disturbance, water management, rehabilitation, and regulatory engagement, ensuring commitments translate into effective on-site controls.
Act as a trusted advisor to project and construction leaders, driving contractor performance, continuous improvement, and clear portfolio-level EHS reporting aligned with operational expectations.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, supported by formal WHS and auditing certifications.
Extensive EHS leadership experience (15+ years) within mining, heavy industry, or major capital projects.
Demonstrated expertise in portfolio or program-level EHS governance and assurance.
Strong knowledge of WA mining, WHS legislation, and environmental approvals and compliance frameworks.
Proven capability in contractor management, project lifecycle delivery (FEL to commissioning), and engagement with regulatory bodies.
