Leading the legal team’s input on power tolling contracts and M&A related matters.
Confidently advise the business on legal and commercial risks associated with corporate development activities.
Leading on all aspects of drafting, reviewing and negotiating of complex tolling agreements, sale and purchase agreements and other transaction related documents.
Drafting ancillary documents, Docusign management and assisting with contract management queries for sites under construction and in operations.
Responsibility for providing commercially focused legal advice both in respect of the EV and Network Infrastructure sides of the business.
Confidently manage external legal counsel.
Responsible for keeping legal budgets within approval levels on specified projects that you are leading.
Leading & mentoring more junior members of the team and advising on specific questions.
Delivering training to internal teams as required.
Managing one or more members of the legal team as a direct report.
Ability to be involved in construction discussions and working closely with the Head of Legal
NI & Construction.
Supporting General Counsel when required.
Reporting in to the General Counsel and supporting legal functions in the US, UK and as we expand into Europe, Australasia regions and elsewhere, as needed

Requirements
At least 10 years PQE having trained and qualified at a good regional, national or international law firm
Strong Generalist transaction lawyer with experience in power tolling/offtake arrangements, M&A and project finance experience
Ideally someone who possesses inhouse experience
Experienced contract negotiator with commercial awareness
Excellent legal drafting skills
Sound commercial judgment with an ability to prioritise effectively
An understanding of the energy regulatory environment and experience in the energy sector would be a strong advantage
Able to establish rapport and build strong trust-based relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to thrive in a very fast-paced environment with large amounts of responsibility and ownership.
Excellent organisational skills, able to multi-task, meet deadlines and juggle competing demands.
Attention to detail and able to produce work of consistently high quality.
