Support the legal team in: Managing corporate duties for all Canadian corporate entities
Reviewing intercompany agreements and obtaining signatures from Directors of corporate entities on necessary resolutions.
Analyzing legal risks in a wide range of matters related to commercial, regulatory and compliance law.
Proactively monitoring and analyzing new regulatory reporting requirements
Developing and presenting concise summaries, actionable recommendations and training to relevant business stakeholders to meet reporting obligations
Preparing and filing required reports, including through liaising with third party agencies, preparing and attending regulators’ audits – addressing follow ups.
Work collaboratively as part of the legal team and provide legal support to matters and/or JTI business functions as determined by the line manager from time to time.
Requirements
Licensed paralegal
5 to 7 years of experience as a licensed paralegal
Ability and willingness to learn new skills, including regulatory compliance and reporting obligations
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken – The candidate must be fluent in both French and English.
Excellent decision-making and self-management skills
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
