About this role
Role Overview
- Responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel
- Assist the Master in developing passage plans
- Prepare voyage plans and itinerary speed templates
- Provide navigation information to the Chief Engineer
- Ensure navigational charts and publications are maintained
- Maintain navigation equipment in good working order
- Keep records of compass errors
- Responsible for all entries in the Log Book
- Conduct workstation spot checks
Requirements
- Chief Officer’s License
- Training in accordance with STCW
- Previous experience as a Watch Officer
- Ability to communicate in the English language
- Ability to communicate in the German Language
