Drive robust sourcing risk assessments on new or potential electronics suppliers and existing suppliers with new commodities
Industrialize new suppliers to Ford, suppliers implementing new technology and or complexity commodities
Conduct onsite evaluation visits for Priority commodities as per GPDS supplier engagement process for new programs.
Support Capacity Purchase team in capacity studies and Capacity uplifts studies, interfacing with suppliers and Ford cross-functional teams.
Drive new supplier site evaluations and Supplier Risk Assessment on new sourcing in support of new program Sourcing (GCST process), identifying Risk Mitigation.
Review supplier incremental tooling work plans compliance to the Ford Phased PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) process requirements.
Review and disposition Supplier’s electronic Capacity Analysis Reports (eCAR) for compliance to capacity requirements.
Drive robust Supplier Failure Mode Avoidance through PFMEA, SCCAF, CP reviews, Manufacturing feasibility reviews and Health chart deployment as applicable.
Drive suppliers for Special process compliance, particularly Ford Electronic Manufacturing Requirements (FEMR), with the support of STA Technical Specialists and Subject Matter Experts.
Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence with the assigned sites through Q1-MSA deployment, Q1 attainment/ retention, Health Charts (HCs) compliance, provide Supplier training and guidance as required.
Drive deployment & improvement of Quality performance requirements (Q1, QR, TGW, R/1000, CPU), through Warranty Reduction, Benchmarking, Lean Manufacturing, G8D (Global 8 Disciplines) methodology, PFMEA, SPC, Gage R&R as required, including readouts to upper-level management.
Drive closure of supplier process quality issues related to Stop Ship/Build, BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) projects and Field Service Actions.
Drive compliance to all organizational and corporate training requirements and SIM process compliance.
Requirements
5 years minimum experience analyzing machine settings to (pick-and-place, solder printers, reflow ovens) and machine vision systems (SPI, AOI, AXI)
Bachelor of Science / Engineering or Academic equivalent. Candidates without bachelor's degree will be considered with relevant automotive work experience in the supplier quality field.
Understanding and application of relevant electronic manufacturing standards (e.g., IPC-610, ISO 9000, ANSI S20.20, MIL, IATF 16949) and material regulations.
Performing manufacturing feasibility assessments
Ability to speak and write fluently in English
Experience in process planning, implementation, and launch in Electronics Manufacturing Systems
Experience in project management or program launch
Demonstrated knowledge of Problem Solving and Quality System Tools (e.g., 8D, 3-Legged-5Whys, FMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), MSA)
Ability to travel to suppliers' sites (located in the US, Mexico and Canada) as required to conduct audits (up to 70%), support issues containment and resolution, and drive prevent re-occurrence actions.
