Actively participate in the identification and development of new opportunities, managing captures, and strategic planning.
Execute growth strategies and business plans, conduct program reviews and customer assessments, and build and maintain relationships with external and internal customers.
Directly responsible for contributing to the development and management of a robust qualified pipeline with a primary focus on US Army accounts.
Develop new opportunities and creating positive business outcomes are primary responsibilities of the business development lead.
Manage extensive industry relationships, offer understanding of the existing program and teaming environment, and provide mastery of various facets of the customer.
Duties include all phases of customer relationships, business development, and coordination and engagement with capture management with emphasis on identification, qualification, and capture phases.
Identify and participate, as required, in marketing events such as trade shows that support capture objectives.
Identify and qualify prospective teaming partners.
Up to 25% travel may be required.
Requirements
BS degree or equivalent in relevant field; Masters degree preferred and may substitute for 3 years of experience
20+ years prior relevant experience
Excellent communications skills – demonstrated through written and oral presentations, development of technical papers, volumes, or similar products
Possess business and technical vision
Ability to think strategically
Possess analytical presentation and problem-solving skills
Experience in identifying and qualifying large business development programs (>$250M Total Contract Value) with emphasis on opportunity qualification and shaping
Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, team leadership, etc.
Extensive experience working business development within the Department of War contracting environment.
Experience and comfort interfacing at all organization levels, to include executive leadership
Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish solid working relationships with technical staff, division managers, and peers across the corporation
Experience developing and managing marketing and bid and proposal budgets.
