Lead and oversee multidisciplinary project teams in the design of tailings storage facilities, including advanced analyses (dynamic, FLAC, liquefaction)
Collaborate in the development and optimization of tailings containment designs
Prepare and review technical studies, geotechnical investigations, design drawings, and specifications related to tailings site selection and development
Conduct and contribute to technical reviews, including peer reviews, dam safety reviews, and inspections of tailings and mine waste facilities
Participate actively in project meetings, providing geotechnical expertise and guidance
Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate engineers
Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals and business development initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geological Engineering; postgraduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent experience) is strongly preferred
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario and/or other Canadian provinces
15+ years of relevant experience leading multidisciplinary teams of large
and small-scale projects within Mining and Metals
Strong technical expertise in tailings dam design and analysis
Stress-strain modeling (e.g., FLAC or equivalent)
Dynamic and seismic analysis
Liquefaction assessment
Slope stability and seepage analysis
Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical, hydrology, hydrogeology, and environmental specialists.
