Role Overview
Conduct design of electric and electronic systems
Study power generation and distribution, centralized machinery monitoring and control.
Apply knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques, to develop and evaluate moderately complex technical reports related to application of C5I systems onboard USCG ships.
Review and evaluate the effect of new and/or modified electronics on overall system performance.
Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), Engineering Changes (EC’s).
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 8
10 years of related work experience (Degree in Engineering is preferred)
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
Must be a US Citizen for the purposes of obtaining a security clearance
Minimum of 8 years documented experience developing and integrating systems involving electromagnetic energy transmission for purposes including sensor processing, remote sensing, communications, guidance and control, information processing, navigation and defense applications.
Meets Required DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification Requirements.
Previous experience with shipboard and defense C5I systems preferred
Knowledge of USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
