Civil Structural Engineer

Role Overview

• Broad knowledge of Civil Engineering components of Power, Transmission & Distribution Project.
• Sound understanding of technical principles underlying civil engineering, particularly civil engineering structures, foundation and equipment foundations related to Power Business – Including Generation and Power Networks.
• Awareness of current international design codes and standards, especially BS and Euro codes.
• Preparation of design basis reports and perform structural design calculations based on same.
• Experience of working with STAAD or any similar analysis/ design package.
• Capable of reviewing General arrangement drawing, RC detailed drawings, Bar Bending schedule etc.
• Experience in design of both RC and steel structures.
• Must have worked on Pile foundations.
• Experience in design of connections.
• Experience in preparing calculations in Excel spreadsheets.
• Calculation using Mathcad will be an added advantage.
• Must be able to demonstrate review of works carried out by Junior team members.
• Strong conceptualization ability, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must, including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.
• Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.
• Contribute to maintaining existing and developing new client relationships.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites/offices when required.
• Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
• Team building qualities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Thorough knowledge Civil engineering fundamentals and concepts for Transmission, distribution and generation segments.
• Understand engineering concepts and capable of interfacing with different departments.
• Capability to produce good quality drawings, design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Must have working knowledge on BIM environment.
• Experience in use of one or all the STAAD Pro, ETABS, Autodesk ROBOT or any other similar design package software tools will be an added advantage.
