Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, deeply understanding their insurance accounting specific problems and pain points to ensure the team is building online payment and finance products that are usable, valuable, feasible, and viable.
Lead continuous product discovery efforts, utilizing techniques such as customer interviews, prototyping, and experimentation to identify high-value opportunities and validate product-market fit.
Own and drive product strategy for the core platform so that it is ready to expand in the Carrier / Enterprise space, defining the vision, goals, and roadmap based on deep customer needs, market analysis, and business objectives.
Collaborate intensely with software engineers, design (UX), and business stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and impactful product definition and successful, timely execution of the product backlog.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, using data to inform product decisions, measure success, and drive continuous iteration and improvement.
Develop go-to market plans and necessary collateral ahead of new product launches focused on a clear value propositions targeted towards key user personas.
Travel: A small amount of domestic travel, 15% of the time maximum, to visit clients at their offices or to industry trade shows, with peers on the account team and with the manager for client visits, as is normal and customary for the position.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management and Strategy, or closely related.
4 years’ experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner, Business Analyst, or closely related.
Within the 4 years of experience, at least 1 year of experience specifically with the following:
Payments in the insurance market, business models, and product strategy.
End-to-end financial workflows within a typical insurance carrier management system (e.g., from policy issuance to premium collection, claims payout, and financial reporting). This includes experience analyzing gaps in functionality that creates inefficiencies for a carrier's accounting department.
Experience defining and executing a product strategy for a complex business-to-business (B2B) enterprise platform, including understanding the sales cycle, pricing models, and total cost of ownership (TCO) for large carriers.
Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to enterprise accounting automation related to reconciliation and operational efficiency.
Experience with modern payment and accounting platforms, such as cloud architecture and REST APIs.
Experience communicating with C-level executives (CFOs, COOs, CIOs) at carrier clients, as well as internal sales, engineering, and compliance teams. This requires translating technical automation capabilities into measurable business value (e.g., cost savings, faster close times, reduced risk).
