You will act as the central interface between Purchasing, Knauf plants, R&D and suppliers on all quality-related matters across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
A strong focus is placed on implementing corrective and preventive actions to reduce quality-related risks in the supply chain, ensuring structured follow-up of supplier requirements and supporting plants in escalation cases.
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of supplier quality management processes in line with the Center of Excellence standards while representing the needs and priorities of the business unit.
Key activities include identifying and resolving systemic quality issues at suppliers, conducting supplier audits and qualifications, and challenging existing material standards to ensure the best possible quality for Knauf.
In addition, you will develop and evaluate suppliers across EMEA, negotiate quality agreements and train the EMEA organization on SQM processes and tools.
Requirements
You hold a university degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mineralogy, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
You have proven experience in conducting audits.
You have a strong track record in supplier management, supplier development and quality management, and possess solid knowledge of quality management systems and supplier development processes.
You are familiar with problem-solving methodologies and tools such as 8D, 5-Why and Ishikawa and can quickly understand various production processes in chemical, mechanical and mining environments.
A strong foundation in process quality, continuous improvement, project management and communication, combined with a hands-on approach, will help you succeed in this role.
You are proficient in MS Office and ideally SAP, fluent in English and willing to travel up to 30% to maintain a strong presence in plants and with suppliers in an international and culturally diverse organization.
