Access and troubleshoot the functionality of the building systems and equipment including HVAC, electrical, chill water, generators, air handlers, etc.
Determine if issues can be repaired by internal resources or require outsourcing to a vendor
Be the primary point of contact with vendors for repairs and act as a liaison between the vendors and the customer’s facilities manager
Operate, monitor, maintain, inspect, and support data center heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems
Install, test, configure, customize various data center facility support systems
Participate in project teams to replace, repair, and maintain various data center facility systems
Provide oversight and guidance to vendors, perform quality control on work completed
Manage potentially emergent situations, lead corrective action through resolution
Ensure compliance with Federal standards including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and state and local standards
Diagnose data center support equipment failure and institute action(s) to return equipment to normal operations
Respond to afterhours calls/emergencies in a timely manner if needed
Requirements
5+ years of Facilities and Equipment experience in a Datacenter, Medical Facility or Commercial setting
Expertise in modern facilities operations including HVAC and environmental controls, security, safety systems, power, backup power systems, and smart building decision systems
Skilled at determining electrical power requirements, hardware placement, installation, move, replacement, and removal activities
Ability to communicate applicable technical subject matter expertise to management and others
Strong written and oral communication skills in English
Must be capable of directing personnel and interfacing with the Government and customers
