Provide support to EHS staff and business unit partners
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Support permitting and compliance activities related to floodplain ordinances, wetlands, erosion and sediment control, stormwater, and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act
Maintain current knowledge of environmental laws and regulations
Serve as subject matter expert for designated environmental programs and related compliance issues
Support the implementation of procedures and programs to assist business units in complying with environmental laws and regulations
Assist with tracking regulatory changes, legislative activities, and industry standards
Work with internal Subject Matter Experts and regulatory authorities to interpret regulations and laws
Provide support for completion of regulatory-required and internal environmental reports
Assist with assigned environmental training programs
Participate in preparation, submittal and negotiation of permits and permit renewals with authorities
Communicate permit requirements to facilities
Strive to continually develop and improve job-related, technical knowledge and skill to ensure that department expectations are met
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or other related degree
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, High School/GED and 4 years related work experience
Minimum 3 years related work experience for EHS Consultant
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree and 3 years' experience, High School/GED and 7 years related work experience
General understanding of Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Regulations
Experience with permitting and compliance activities related to floodplain ordinances, wetlands, erosion and sediment control, stormwater, and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act
Experience working with federal, state, or regulatory agencies
Experience in supporting environmental compliance at multiple facilities and/or within multiple regulatory jurisdictions
Ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully complete each of them within specified timeframes
Working toward certification(s) as an environmental professional (QEP, CHMM, PMP, etc.) is preferred
Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented focus
