About this role
Role Overview
Perform general ledger accounting tasks including journal postings, period-end close activities, and maintenance of balance sheet and P&L accounts
Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and other routine month-end adjustments
Manage daily bank operations, including posting incoming and outgoing payments, preparing bank account reports, and performing daily reconciliations between bank statements and SAP accounts
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and US GAAP requirements (German GAAP knowledge is a plus)
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks
Execute cost center rebookings, intercompany transfers, and corrections of mispostings
Maintain high-quality reconciliations and documentation in line with internal control standards
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, clear open items, and improve accounting accuracy
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries
Requirements
Experience in general ledger accounting within a corporate or shared-services environment
SAP experience (must-have; ECC or S/4HANA)
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (required); German GAAP is an advantage
Experience with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and accounting controls
Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-currency environments is beneficial
US GAAP (required), German GAAP (plus)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver accurate results under deadlines
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
No formal certification (ACCA, CPA, ACA) required, though it is considered a plus
Very good English and German skills
