Role Overview
Client Relations Associates are the front line daily interface and liaison between portfolio management, the client’s custodian, and auditors.
Compiles and disseminates client portfolio information, including transactions, portfolio characteristics, and investment performance to consultants.
Organizes and prepares presentation materials for formal client reviews.
Develops customized reporting to meet client needs not met by standard system reporting.
Actively participates and contributes to weekly departmental conference calls, which include client development, consultant relations, compliance, marketing, communications, and finance.
Facilitates and coordinates the opening of new client portfolios, including transition meetings with client development and clients, as well as the closing of terminated portfolios.
Initiates, coordinates, and facilitates portfolio certifications to meet client/consultant regulatory (SOX) requirements.
Actively participates in segment team meetings, proactively researching prospect information, and lead generation to support client development director new business development activities.
Requirements
Typically a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically three or more years of client services experience
Thorough knowledge of performance reporting terms and calculations, investment terminology, portfolio accounting, and some level of financial accounting
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret data
Proven customer service/relations skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses required, or the ability to obtain within 120 days of the start date
