About this role
Role Overview
Design and modelling of (mainly) plastic components and assemblies for different applications in forklift trucks, like interior panels, dashboards, oil tanks etc. in 3D CAD, including creation of technical 2D drawings, bills of materials, and additional documentation like assembly instructions etc.
Creation, maintenance and extension of the group-wide construction kit for driver workplace components like driver seats, fixture systems for detachable/ 3rd party HMI elements, writing boards etc. with focus on cost optimization and usability across all types of forklift trucks
Interface coordination with procurement, quality assurance, external component suppliers and in-house production facilities, e.g. preparation of procurement‑relevant documents and coordination with production planning
Analysis of technical problems in (plastic) component manufacturing and in the field, with support from development center in Germany if necessary
Incorporation of serial changes and Cust Options in accordance with the Jungheinrich change process
Support of prototype builds, testing and commissioning
Requirements
Industrial or academic education as a Technical Product Designer, Design/Development Engineer, or similar qualification
General knowledge in mechanical design, especially for plastic component design, mold design and mold tooling
Special knowledge in plastic material and manufacturing technology, like injection molding, rotational and blow molding, thermoforming and the corresponding materials/additives
Proficient use of common CAD systems (CATIA preferred, Siemens NX welcome)
Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Siemens Teamcenter) is an advantage
Basic experience with ERP systems (SAP R/3, MM module)
Structured and precise working style, clear communication especially towards external suppliers
Strong technical understanding and analytical/problem‑solving skills
Team‑oriented mindset and strong internal communication skills
Enthusiasm for developing complex technical solutions
Self-initiative mindset with a sense for responsibility
Fluent (technical) English required, German is nice to have.
