Provide technical design support to a wide range of customers in the industrial and consumer markets
Actively participate in customers’ technical reviews and development projects
Support launch of future programs through technical expertise and program management
Identify, analyze, and help implement new technology and products improvements through program lifecycles
Simplify, standardize, and improve the manufacturability of customers’ new and current products
Function as a liaison between customer’s and Hydro’s operational/commercial teams
Coordinate and/or lead meetings and reporting for assigned projects
Maintain records of specific improvement ideas for reporting while tracking and providing status updates for assigned metrics
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field required
5 years of engineering and product design required
Up to 50% domestic travel is required
Prior experience with aluminum or metals industries preferred
Design experience, proficiency in 3D modelling software (Solidworks preferred), FEA experience preferred
Sales Engineering experience or commercial training is desirable
Experience serving a wide range of industries and applications a plus
Strong background in metals (aluminum preferred) and fabrication processes with design experience
Ability to quickly analyze technical challenges, develop functional solutions, and clearly communicate them to customers
Proven ability to manage relationships with customers and specific projects across disciplines and locations while executing successful hand-offs to sales and operations
