About this role
Role Overview
Support and troubleshoot enterprise Linux systems (SUSE, RHEL, Ubuntu) across production environments.
Analyze unstable or underperforming systems and propose structured improvements.
Manage on-prem infrastructure and VMware virtualization platforms.
Administer and maintain virtual environments supporting critical workloads.
Operate within OT environments connected to renewable energy generation systems.
Support infrastructure interfacing with SCADA systems, understanding how industrial control architectures interact with underlying IT infrastructure.
Build reliable automation using Bash and Python.
Develop scripts for system integration, configuration management, and operational tasks.
Improve monitoring, logging, and system observability across hybrid infrastructure.
Ensure visibility into system health and performance.
Manage networking components with a strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals, process lifecycle, memory, and storage behavior.
Work comfortably at OS, network, and hardware interaction layers.
Trace failures across layers — from system logs to network flows to physical device responses.
Diagnose and resolve issues independently in production environments.
Maintain and operate legacy Windows systems still in production, including infrastructure connected to industrial hardware and serial communication interfaces.
Document changes properly and follow structured change management processes: analyze → plan → execute → verify.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related roles
Strong Linux background (SUSE, RHEL, or Ubuntu)
Hands-on experience with VMware administration and on-prem infrastructure
Experience with Windows Server administration and legacy systems in production
Experience working with legacy systems in production
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OS internals, and hardware interaction layers
Proficiency in Bash and/or Python for automation
Strong troubleshooting skills and structured, methodical thinking
Ability to operate independently in production environments
