PCT, Support, Dayshift

Role Overview

• Performs patient care activities, including identifying and responding to abnormal findings.
• Appropriately escalates changes in the patient’s condition to the nurse.
• Provides assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity.
• Practices patient and family centered care.

Requirements

• Certified in Basic Life Support issued by (AHA) American Heart Association before hire.
• Two (2) years of prior patient care experience (e.g. Certified Nursing Assistant, , or Patient Care Technician).
• Phlebotomy skills check off required within 90 days of hire.
• Proficiency in all Core Competencies of the PCT position as noted in Memorial Hermann’s PCT Competency Based Tool and as validated by Memorial Hermann Clinical Education no later than the end of orientation.
