Develop and maintain Aurora’s suite of energy marketing models
Work closely with our research and consulting teams to derive insights from model results
Contribute to continuously improving how the modelling team operates
Supporting business development work, for example by contributing delivery plans to our proposals
Requirements
Relevant degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or other quantitative field from a top university (First class university degree from premier institute (IITs and IIMs preferred)
Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical ability
Experience of working at a major consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or other knowledge-focused firm or institution
Strong understanding of power system operations including grid, battery and renewable energy system operations and their role in the Indian power sector
Ability to analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information
Knowledge of one programming language, e.g. Python
Demonstrated ability to work on complex energy modelling of hybrid power products in the Indian power sector, battery modelling etc.
Previous experience of working on energy-related projects or policy – particularly in an Indian context (preferably in Power and Renewables domain)
Preferred understanding of energy modelling, especially power markets
Strong interpersonal skills, and a great team player
Ability to understand client problem statements and analyse client relevant outputs using Aurora models
Self-starter and strong self-learning attitude
Strong experience of working with MS Excel, complex datasets, MS Powerpoint
Bachelors degree from top tier university
Experience in a quantitative and/or technical role
Knowledge of and interest in energy markets, and a belief that well-designed models significantly improve decision making
Knowledge of statistical and/or optimization techniques
