About this role
Role Overview
Primarily perform regular maintenance focused on installed industrial centrifuges, particularly decanters and separators, at various industrial customer sites across Germany based from your home location, averaging about 3 hotel nights per week
After thorough onboarding, take responsibility for commissioning our machines in new installations or plant modifications
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control-related faults and act as the first responder on site in emergency situations
Integrate our control system into the customer's plant control, including interface testing
As a controls specialist, actively exchange knowledge with product specialists within your internal network — including international colleagues in English
Actively contribute to the development of remote service solutions, e.g., via mobile apps as part of our digitization strategy
Advise customers on our product portfolio and recommend appropriate Alfa Laval solutions
Prepare reports on service visits and initiate follow-up activities for the internal service/sales team
Requirements
Technical/electro-mechanical training (e.g., mechatronics) with practical experience or equivalent skills and experience
Strong knowledge of electrical and control engineering is required
Good experience with control and electrical technologies, for example Siemens TIA Portal, ABB frequency converters and B&R controllers
Uploading software, adjusting hardware configurations, setting up systems and verifying data exchange via PN/PN coupler connections
Network configuration of Profinet devices by adjusting basic settings and IP addressing
Commissioning experience is desirable
High degree of independence, initiative and good communication skills
Confident and professional demeanor when interacting with customers
Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel extensively
Affinity for using modern IT applications such as Office 365 and company-specific systems
Good spoken and written German and English are required
Enjoyment of customer-facing/sales interaction is desirable
Interest and active participation in shaping digital service offerings
