Product Design Manager

Role Overview

• Combine craft expertise and leadership skills to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems
• Influence product strategy
• Demonstrate a high degree of skill in product design across interaction, visual, and service design
• Lead design projects, directing work for more junior team members
• Mentor and help mature the overall product design practice at Capital One
• Navigate stakeholder needs while ensuring focus on customer-centered solutions and inclusive design
• Apply relevant insights on customers, competitors and broader market trends to shape business challenges
• Help cross-functional teams navigate technical limitations for impactful solutions
• Present work using a human-centered approach that influences strategic decision-making

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role
• At least 5 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
• Experience working with and contributing to an established design system
• Experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners
• Experience leading design projects or teams
• Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
