Software Engineer

Saile is building a workforce platform for healthcare facilities and clinicians. The Founding Engineer will own the technical foundation, build full-stack and AI-powered product features, integrate healthcare and customer systems, and help shape engineering practices and team growth.

Responsibilities:

• Ship full-stack features. Build across frontend, backend, and database, from recruiting and onboarding flows to credentialing dashboards and shift scheduling
• Own features end to end. Talk with facility operators and clinicians, shape the solution, design the data model, and take it to production
• Add AI where it helps. Integrate LLM APIs into product features, such as auto-filling applications and extracting data from credential documents
• Connect to healthcare's data sources. Integrate with CAQH, NPPES, DEA, NPDB, OIG/SAM/OFAC exclusion lists, state medical boards, and payer enrollment portals
• Integrate with customer systems such as ATS, EMR, and Salesforce
• Evolve the stack. Work across Supabase (Postgres), Render, and AI-assisted builders like Lovable, and decide what to keep, rewrite, or replace as we scale
• Build security in from day one. Access controls, audit trails, and careful handling of sensitive provider data such as licenses, DEA registrations, and background checks
• Set the engineering bar. Establish testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development practices that let a small team move fast without breaking things
• Help build the team by shaping hiring and onboarding for the engineers who follow you

Requirements:

• You're a strong full-stack engineer. You build across frontend, backend, and database (for example TypeScript, React, Postgres, and API design), and you deploy and run what you build
• You've built at a startup. You've shipped production software at an early-stage company, where you owned problems end to end and wore whatever hat was needed
• You're AI-native. You use AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor every day, and you have clear opinions on where they speed you up and where they don't
• You've shipped AI-powered features. You've integrated LLM APIs into a product and know how to get reliable, structured results out of them
• You work independently. Give you an ambiguous problem and you'll figure out what to build, make the call, and ship it without waiting for a detailed spec
• You care about getting it right. In credentialing, a missed license expiration means a clinician who shouldn't be seeing patients. You know when speed matters and when correctness does
• You communicate clearly. You write well and can explain technical tradeoffs to physicians, operators, and customers
• Experience in healthcare tech, especially credentialing, workforce management, scheduling, or payer enrollment
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, or NCQA credentialing standards
• Document AI experience: OCR, PDF parsing, form extraction, or e-signature workflows
• Experience building two-sided marketplaces or matching and scheduling systems
• Time as an early engineer who helped hire and grow a team
