Project Engineer, Line Design Services

Exo is hiring a Project Engineer for its Overhead Transmission Line Engineering group. The role designs and delivers overhead line projects, leads project teams, coordinates project scope, schedule, and budget, and provides technical guidance while ensuring quality and compliance with client and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop deliverables and perform routine design and analysis independently
• Conduct engineering and design using engineering software and internal tools
• Design routine projects
• Lead project teams
• Coordinate scope, schedule, and budget with project manager
• Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project objectives
• Participate in project meetings
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff
• Lead business development and proposal development
• Participate within the industry
• Confirm design work is produced following quality procedures
• Ensure designs meet client standards, safety, design code, constructability, and cost-efficiency requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency in software described in Key Competencies
• PE Licensed
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
• Knowledge of Project Management Principles
• 6 - 20 years of relevant experience
• Experienced engineering capability
• Collaboration within team environments
• Team leadership experience
• Ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget
• Willingness to accept mentoring and knowledge sharing from more experienced staff
• Proven experience mentoring and training less experienced staff
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Engineering Software (e.g. PLS-CADD, FAD, L-Pile, EPRI Tool Suite, Etc.)
• Ability to analyze complex technical information and apply engineering principles to solve problems
• Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy while performing engineering calculations, modeling, and design review
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects or deadlines in a professional work environment
• Ability to interpret engineering codes, standards, and technical documents
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in written and verbal formats
• Ability to exercise professional judgment and make informed engineering decisions
