Pay Range: $17.66hr - $22.66hr

Job Overview:

The organization is seeking a motivated Plant Transformation Lab Technician to support its gene editing technology development pipeline through plant transformation and tissue culture activities. This is a hands-on laboratory role that requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and organized workflows. The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying and resolving problems, execute tasks efficiently, and contribute to a safe and productive laboratory environment.

Responsibilities:

• With guidance and supervision, assist technical personnel with routine laboratory operations, data collection, and information management in support of scientific research.
• Perform tasks according to established methods, standard operating procedures, and training provided by the work group.
• Support the gene editing technology development pipeline through plant transformation and tissue culture activities.
• Execute hands-on laboratory tasks efficiently while maintaining accurate records and organized workflows.
• Proactively identify and resolve problems to contribute to a safe and productive laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Plant Sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and a general understanding of scientific principles and laboratory practices.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy when performing laboratory tasks.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and execution skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Experience with plant tissue culture and transformation methods in an industry setting preferred.
• Experience with light and fluorescent microscopy preferred.
