Sr Software Engineer (Backend)

Coterie Insurance is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design, develop, and maintain complex software systems supporting its business goals. The role provides technical direction, contributes to architectural decisions, mentors engineers, and delivers reliable, scalable software in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Designs and implements complex systems; mentors others
• Owns end-to-end delivery of significant features
• Ensures code quality, scalability, and maintainability
• Influences technical direction and team practices

Requirements:

• 5+ years software engineering experience
• 5+ years working in the insurance industry
• 5+ years building production ready APIs in C# with .NET 5+
• Experience working within a micro-services architecture in a containerized environment
• Experience working with cloud-based SQL and NoSQL Databases, and other cloud-based services to build scalable applications
• Experience using Git and GitHub to collaborate and review code
• Experience writing Unit tests and automated integration tests (Postman or equivalent)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug issues and improve system performance
• Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and participates in code reviews
• Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement
