Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Deposyt is a fintech SaaS company building an integrated CRM and eCommerce platform with modern payment workflows. The Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will define and build test automation across the platform, improve testability and release confidence, and partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and QA to strengthen quality practices.

Responsibilities:

• Define and evolve the automation strategy for the Deposyt platform across CRM, eCommerce, APIs, and critical business workflows
• Identify the highest-value areas for automation based on business risk, release frequency, defect history, and customer impact
• Recommend the appropriate testing mix across UI, API, integration, regression, smoke, and release-validation layers
• Help establish automation priorities that are practical, maintainable, and aligned with the current product roadmap
• Design, build, and maintain automated tests for critical workflows, APIs, and regression scenarios
• Create reliable automation for the highest-risk customer journeys first, rather than trying to automate low-value scenarios too early
• Improve test coverage for major workflows such as onboarding, payments, messaging, CRM workflows, subscriptions, and commerce operations
• Troubleshoot flaky or brittle tests and improve test suite reliability over time
• Partner with Product and Engineering to improve how requirements are written so they are testable and measurable
• Help define stronger acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and release-readiness expectations
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows so defects are caught earlier and releases are more predictable
• Support a quality model where automated testing, manual testing, exploratory testing, and release validation each have a clear role
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and UX to understand workflows, identify risks, and improve testability
• Collaborate with manual QA resources to convert repeatable regression and workflow tests into automation where appropriate
• Help define a better handoff model between requirements, development, testing, and release
• Support defect triage, root cause follow-up, and continuous quality improvement across teams
• Document the automation framework, test coverage, priorities, and quality gaps
• Help establish clear reporting on what is automated, what is still manual, and where quality risk remains
• Track automation progress, test reliability, regression gaps, and defect trends
• Help the company understand platform quality through evidence rather than intuition

Requirements:

• 5+ years in software QA, test automation, or quality engineering roles
• Strong experience designing and maintaining automated tests for web applications, APIs, and workflow-heavy SaaS products
• Strong understanding of regression testing, integration testing, smoke testing, and release-readiness validation
• Experience working with CI/CD-integrated testing practices
• Strong understanding of how to balance automation with manual exploratory and scenario-based testing
• Ability to translate requirements and workflows into durable, high-value automated tests
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working with distributed teams in a remote environment
• Experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress
• Experience with API testing and service-layer validation
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, CRM, eCommerce, or compliance-sensitive platforms
• Experience working in mixed legacy/modern environments
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and structured SDLC processes
• Exposure to accessibility testing, visual regression testing, or contract testing is a plus
