Technical Staff Intern

Healcovery is seeking a Technical Staff Intern to gain hands-on engineering experience and help build AI solutions for healthcare and case management workflows. The role supports workflow optimization, data and machine learning preparation, conversational AI, care pathway algorithms, user interface development, and technology research.

Responsibilities:

• Workflow Optimization & AI Augmentation: Learn case management workflows and identify opportunities to use AI augmentation, automation, and data insights to improve outcomes
• Data Engineering & ML Prep: Assist with data gathering, cleaning, pipeline building, and storage using Python, PostgreSQL, and machine learning libraries
• AI & Conversational Engineering: Work with state-of-the-art AI models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and ground response accuracy using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Build conversational AI agents using Python, Twilio, and LLM frameworks
• Algorithm & Care Pathway Development: Support the design and implementation of clinical care pathway algorithms based on diverse health datasets
• UI/UX & Gamification: Build modern, accessible UI components with React and TypeScript, crafting seamless, high-value user workflows (clinicians). Learn and apply gamification tactics to maximize engagement (patients)
• Market & Tech Research: Research competitive UI/UX patterns and emerging technologies to deliver a world-class experience
