Production Risk Engineer - Management Liability

Counterpart is hiring a Production Risk Engineer to produce premium through risk analysis, underwriting, and effective distribution of management and professional liability insurance. The role works with brokers and cross-functional teams to price and bind accounts, provide underwriting guidance, and inform product and underwriting strategy with market feedback.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve and exceed underwriting performance and revenue goals, using AI assisted risk scoring, automation, and triage to prioritize submissions and underwrite in accordance with our stated procedures
• Price accounts with competitive terms quickly and thoughtfully, applying AI driven rating and pricing recommendations to accelerate turnaround while adhering to guidelines
• Provide quick, competitive quote communication, using AI drafting and response tools to align messaging with our distribution and market strategies
• Collaborate with the underwriting team of Risk Engineers on understanding the unique exposures of complex accounts
• Serve as a trusted partner to wholesale brokers by offering thoughtful underwriting guidance and responsive communication; use AI tools to log and summarize broker engagement activity in internal systems
• Provide market feedback and recommend improvements to our terms, rates, and guidelines improving our policy forms and coverages
• Bind new business accounts through the consistent engagement with brokers and effective management of the submission and quote lifecycle
• Represent Counterpart at broker meetings, and industry conferences, and networking events
• Surface market feedback and competitive observations to inform the product roadmap and underwriting strategies

Requirements:

• 3-7 years of underwriting experience in the respective product
• A network of brokers, carriers, underwriters, or clients in the professional liability insurance space
• Expertise in various aspects of specialty liability products (e.g. rating procedures, policy forms, applications and coverage endorsements)
• Ability to successfully engage with brokers to establish long-term, profitable partnerships with brokerages
• Confidence presenting to key internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated success with high performing sales and account management practices
• A proven track record of success, achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual targets
• Enthusiasm for continuous challenges in a high velocity environment
• College Degree with relevant work experience of 4+ years
