Senior Nuclear Engineer

Studsvik Scandpower is hiring a Senior Nuclear Engineer to develop, deploy, and support reactor engineering software applications for core monitoring. The role combines nuclear engineering expertise with software design, testing, integration, troubleshooting, customer support, training, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in software product development with team members
• Provide technical testing of products and applications
• Collaborate with software engineers to support and troubleshoot software issues
• Resolve client issues including product development and execution
• Conduct on-site and remote training for clients
• Create technical documentation on processes and application instructions, white papers, and presentations to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Stay informed of developments in reactor design and relevant regulatory requirements
• Generate innovative ideas and help nurture new ideas from concept, through pilot, and into mainstream activity

Requirements:

• Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering is required
• 5 years' experience in nuclear plant operations with a US utility
• Proficiency with reactor engineering, technical specification licensing, and NRC regulations
• Strong understanding and aptitude using software tools for engineering applications
• Experience working with or supporting software development teams
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating environments
• Excellent technical communication, collaborative skills, and the ability to work according to strategic direction
• Microsoft Office Suite experience required
• Experience with SSP software
• GARDEL and SIMULATE is preferred
• Experience with programming, including use of version control and IDE is preferred
