Security Systems Design Engineer

Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on designing lasting solutions for clients and communities. The Security Systems Design Engineer will design and deliver integrated access control, video surveillance, and visitor management solutions for commercial and data center projects, develop CAD/Revit documentation, manage multiple projects, and support client relationships and business development.

Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer access control, video surveillance, and visitor management systems for commercial and data center projects
• Develop system layouts, schematics, and documentation using CAD and/or Revit
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to deliver high-quality security solutions
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously across various regions
• Serve as a client-facing representative, building trust and long-term relationships
• Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for repeat and expanded work
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of experience in security engineering, specifically in access control and surveillance systems
• Experience supporting corporate fit-outs and/or data center projects
• Strong knowledge of multiple hardware and software platforms (access control, CCTV, visitor management systems)
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving abilities, experience in system design using CAD/Revit, and a proven ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams
• Proficiency in CAD and/or Revit preferred
