Job Description

We are seeking a Connectivity Quality QA/QC Inspector to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in telecommunications quality assurance and quality control across connectivity infrastructure and a proven ability to verify compliance with specifications, drive issue resolution, and deliver complete closeout documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as an independent quality representative on connectivity installation projects, ensuring strict compliance with specifications, codes, and contracts.


• Request, review, and work to the latest applicable project specifications and confirm the applicable specification packages.


• Maintain and provide on request a record of all specifications referenced and followed.


• Perform monthly specification audits and escalate misalignment or blockers to the owner's representative.


• Support OFCI equipment management, including adherence to and tracking of RMA processes.


• Escalate specification conflicts or ambiguities to the Construction Engineer for resolution.


• Conduct continuous, independent visual inspections of ongoing connectivity work and prevent concealment of non-conforming work.


• Log all deficiencies as Issues in the designated quality management platform and track to verified resolution.


• Spot-check materials and product data against approved submittals and sign off work areas for readiness per approved shop drawings.


• Verify contractor test equipment compliance and witness testing spot checks as requested.


• Align with stakeholders on the full list and schedule of required QA/QC inspections and execute inspections using the QA/QC platform.


• Complete all checklist review questions, obtain required signatures, and verify field closeout documentation before handover.


• Review and validate closeout materials, including red-lined as-builts, butterfly diagrams, splice path records, QA/QC checklists and issues, and cable test reports.


• Verify pre-audit submittals as mandatory quality gates and oversee Division 27 network audits.


• Confirm certified, calibrated, approved test equipment and validate fiber and copper test results against specified loss values.


• Report on contractor adherence to auditing best practices and manage QA/QC meetings and milestones.


• Coordinate, schedule, and present at weekly project-level and monthly program-level QA/QC meetings.


• Hold pre-meetings and site walks with stakeholder leads to establish readiness and attend inspections for approval.


• Issue weekly QA/QC status reports with minutes, lessons learned, analytics dashboards, prioritized issue logs, and milestone risk updates.


• Deliver the final Project QA/QC Closeout Report documenting activities, resolutions, and outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of telecommunications experience with documentation available for verification.


• Working knowledge of structured cabling, pathways, fiber and copper testing, and telecom specifications (Divisions 01, 07, 27).


• Ability to read and inspect against specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.


• Experience with construction quality management platforms for checklists, issues, and documentation.


• Strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify and manage risk across multiple stakeholders.


• Clear written and verbal reporting skills with experience presenting status to owner representatives.

Preferred Skills:

• Data center or mission-critical facility connectivity installation experience.


• Familiarity with network audit practices, including device, circuit, and quality audits, and analysis of optics health, FEC, and CRC errors.


• Experience with fiber inspection and certification standards (e.g., IEC 61300-3-3) and OTDR/OLTS certification.


• Experience acting as an owner's independent representative on large construction programs.
