Software Engineer, Internal Identity

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, and its Internal Identity team builds infrastructure that secures access to Stripe’s systems. The Software Engineer will develop scalable authorization infrastructure, create policy-driven access solutions, collaborate with internal users, and support continuous access governance.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain reliable, performant and scalable authorization infrastructure (e.g. libraries, frameworks, services)
• Build comprehensive understanding of authorization needs of our users (e.g. product teams and infrastructure teams)
• Build comprehensive, easy-to-use, and policy driven authorization solutions
• Collaborate with our users to adopt our authorization solutions to protect their resources by providing a great user experience
• Build access visibility and continuous policy governance to empower resource owners, legal and compliance to put risk of inappropriate access under control

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of professional hands-on software development experience
• Experience in the security domain
• Strong communication and cross-functional skills; drives clear next steps when there aren't clear lines of ownership
• Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones; have a good intuition for what is lasting and scalable
• Good product sense; able to seek out requirements from dependent teams and align them with business needs
• Experience in the identity and authorization domain
• Experience with Go, Java or Ruby
