Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere. The Software Engineer Intern will participate in a 12-week remote summer internship, writing code and building products used by millions of learners and teachers while learning and using technologies such as Go, JavaScript, React, GraphQL, and AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities:

• We are looking for talented software engineers for our 12-week remote Summer 2027 internship program
• Ability to learn and use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, debugging, and testing, while taking ownership of your work by understanding, reviewing, and validating AI-generated code with guidance from your engineering mentor
• Eagerness to learn, educate, write code, and build products used by millions of learners and teachers

Requirements:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in computer science or a related field
• An expected graduation date in 2027 or 2028 (rising Junior or Senior)
• At least one previous software internship experience
• Ability to learn and use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, debugging, and testing, while taking ownership of your work by understanding, reviewing, and validating AI-generated code with guidance from your engineering mentor
